More than 26,700 new enterprises were registered in the first quarter of 2018, a 1.2% annual increase, according to the Ministry of Planning and Investment’s Business Registration Management Agency.
The newly registered enterprises total capital reached over VND278 trillion (US$12.23 billion), a 2.7% increase compared to the same period last year.
In addition, operational enterprises pumped an additional VND485 trillion (US$21.34 billion) into their activities during the period.
March saw the establishment of over 8,000 enterprises with a total registered capital of VND81 trillion (US$3.56 billion), posting a 2.8% increase in the number and 18% decrease in capital compared to the same period last year.
As a result, nearly 69,000 jobs were created, down 3% from February.
The Agency also reported that 8,449 enterprises resumed their operations in the first three months.
