Travel to EthnicVillages

No longer choosing the familiar destinations in central Dalat, many tourists travel to the mountain suburbs to explore the culture and pace of life of the K’Ho living in their tribal village as a new experience on their trip to Dalat!.

The K’Ho B’Nor C village, located at the foot of Langbiang Mountain (Lac Duong District), has possibly been no longer strange to domestic and foreign tourists in recent years. This is a small village but retains the rustic, simple and peaceful features of the people here. During the idle season, in the wooden houses with eye-catching colorful windows, the K’Ho women sit meticulously weaving brocade. Tourists visit the village, they talk friendly and do not forget to introduce their hand-made textile products. Ka Hen (45 years old) said that the tourists visit the village, and learn about brocade, so we tell them about our craft. If anyone wants to buy products, we sell to them on the spot as a source of additional income during idle period.

Roland Cole (33) has operated a travel agency at B’ Nơr C, and set up a tourist reception area, displaying Arabica coffee products and introducing the special production process of this coffee specialty. With fluent English spoken skills, Rolan also welcomes foreign delegations to the village.

After introducing guests to the local coffee specialties, she leads them around the village, telling them about indigenous cultures, people’s lives, and brocade weaving profession. Rolan said, "Foreigners like to know about native culture very much, so I willingly take the time to lead them to explore the village to promote, introduce the features of the K’Ho. It is also a very special way of the village to do travel business. "

When the tour is completed, and tourists have learnt the process of producing Arabica coffee specialty in the garden, traditional culture and brocade weaving craft of K’Ho people, female tourist Le Minh Phuong (Binh Duong) said : "We have gone to Dalat many times but this is the first time I have had such an interesting experience. Destinations like the Valley of Love, Langbiang, Lake of Sighs ... are so familiar and therefore, going to the village like this is quite amazing to explore interesting new things in Da Lat”.

Similarly, in the suburban areas of Dalat, there are also villages of the K’Ho that have become new destinations to tourists, namely, K’Long chicken village (Hiep An commune, Duc Trong district), Ta Nung ethnic minority village (Ta Nung commune, Da Lat), Da Nhim village (Lac Duong) village. This summer, Ngoc Nhien and her daughter (Ca Mau) took a trip to Dalat. Despite the short stay, Nhien spent a whole day buying tours to explore the suburbs of Da Lat. Her first destination is K’Ho ethnic minority village in Ta Nung commune, which interested her and her daughter very much. "When we come to the village, we learn about the culture of the local people. They are very friendly and open, the women in the village even picked mangoes planted in the garden for my daughter, she liked it very much. It is our unforgettable memory, "Nhiên said.

Capturing the current needs of tourists, many travel companies and travel agencies have put some villages on their tour itinerary, through which they create a novel, attractive spots and destinations for tourists when they come to Dalat.
